If you have an HDTV, you might be disappointed with the overall picture quality your getting. There’s a few things you have to understand.
First, the Nintendo Wii is NOT an HD game system. Yeah, it will to 480p, but that’s it. That barely qualifies as HD. You aren’t going to get the kind of picture you get from your PS3 or Xbox 360.
However, you can make it better, and it will only cost you around $15 (roll over for actual price). It is the Nintendo Wii component video cable. This one happens to be “the” Nintendo cable, however there are slightly cheaper ones available on the web. All produce exactly the same picture quality.
You will notice a significant improvement in picture quality especially when you set you Wii to 16:9 mode.

Nintendo Wii Component Cable (for HDTV’s)
Go head and get it. You will be very glad you did. Again, not full 1080p, but way better than the composite cable that comes with the Wii.
